“If every family in the world consumed the same as the average Irish family consumes today, we would need 3.3 planets to supply our needs. This is simply unsustainable,” says Bishop Nulty.
Bishop asks people all around the country to choose the prayer they like most, such as the Rosary or the Lord’s Prayer, perhaps a prayer learnt at their mother’s knee or handed down in their family.
“For the most dangerous consequences of climate change will fall on those least able to bear them, on those areas already vulnerable to desertification and rising sea levels.” President Michael D Higgins.
“It is an occasion where hundreds of thousands of people gather. Wherever people gather is the place to be and it is what Pope Francis wants us to do – to get out and be out among the people,” says Bishop Fintan Monahan.

Priests, Religious and lay people promote faith and mission alongside all things agricultural.
President Higgins highlights the importance of people supporting local employers, businesses and produce.
