"This Liturgy for the Opening of the School Year has been written with the restrictions around Covid19 in mind," says Derry Diocesan Liturgical Centre.

“It is my fervent hope that you will go forward from here to bring joy and hope to the life of the Church in your local parish area and beyond,” says Archbishop Neary.

"For these young people this is an adventure but there is also obviously a real commitment – they could be going elsewhere but they have decided to give one week to this.”
