SOPRANO AND SPORTS STARS BACK MISSION COOK OFF

19 June, 2014

19.6.14 SOPRANO AND SPORTS STARS BACK MISSION COOK OFF
A nationwide cookery challenge was launched today (19.6.14) in Dublin by ‘World Missions Ireland’ as part of it’s drive to highlight it’s campaign to provide one million dinners for children in the developing world and promote it’s many mission projects. Missionary children is it’s dedicated children’s charity and every cent raised under it’s fundraising division goes to children’s projects in Africa, Asia and Oceania. Along with soprano Celine Byrne known for hitting high notes in top opera houses around the world, popular Kildare GAA star Dermot Earley, RTE rugby pundit Brent Pope and Mary O’ Rourke are supporting the cook off. The idea behind the campaign is that contestants will devise a dinner menu to feed a family of six for five Euro. The entries will be whittled down to just five and a cook off will take place between the finalists in October the traditional month of mission.
