CARDINAL LEADS CELEBRATION AT MULLINGAR CATHEDRAL

CARDINAL DOLAN OF NEW YORK LEADS 75TH JUBILEE CELEBRATIONS OF MEATH’S CATHEDRAL.
The guest of honour and preacher today (7.9.14) at the jubilee mass in the Cathedral Of Christ The King Mullingar was Cardinal Timothy Dolan Archbishop of New York. The celebration marked the 75th anniversary of the consecration of the Cathedral in the Diocese of Meath. Bishop Michael Smith Bishop of Meath was the principal celebrant and the Papal Nuncio Archbishop Charles Brown attended. Before the mass started a birch tree was planted in the grounds of the Cathedral by Cardinal Dolan and after the mass the congregation formed a number 75 outside the Cathedral to signify the celebration taking place.
