ICPO’S ‘GOOD TO KNOW BEFORE YOU GO’ SOCIAL MEDIA CAMPAIGN FOR YOUNG EMIGRANTS.
Today (12.9.14) at Dublin Airport the launch of ‘Good To Know Before You Go’ campaign by the Irish Council For Prisoners Overseas took place. This social media awareness campaign is targeted at young emigrants and encourages them to take care of themselves and each other while also respecting the laws and customs in other countries. The ICPO campaign is in response to the current wave of emigration and an increase in the number of Irish people breaking the law and becoming prisoners in certain jurisdictions. The campaign consists of a brief online video which viewers are encouraged to view, share and retweet as well as humorous images and messages. Attending the launch today were John Kirby Bishop of Clonfert and Chair of the Irish Bishops Council for Emigrants, Joanna Joyce, coordinator of the ICPO, Alan Brogan, member of the Dublin GAA senior football panel and spoke on his experience as a scaffolder in Australia and in building maintence in New York.
