Tuesday of the first week of Advent :2/12/14
Gospel: Luke 10:23-24
‘Blessed are the eyes who see what you see!
For I tell you that many prophets and kings desired to see what you see,
but did not see it,
and to hear what you hear
but did not hear it.’
Reflection: After seeing Jesus
Seeing Jesus was a big thing in people’s lives. 
They remembered meeting him; he was the type of person you didn’t forget after you met him. Meeting him and hearing him, seeing him touching people with compassion left an afterglow. A feeling of well-being and love remained long after being with him.
His words go deep into the desires of the human heart, nourishing our good desires and challenging the not-so-good. His presence promises faithfulness and love forever. We long for this sort of meeting with him too, and this is what people wanted in looking forward to his coming.
We welcome in to the world the astounding and faithful love of God, and know that in Jesus, one like ourselves, prepared for at Advent, such love will never vanish or weaken.
Prayer:
Christ of the welcomes, we welcome you;
Christ of faithful love, we invite you among us;
Christ of joy and life, make our hearts like yours.
