Holy Saturday is a day of loss, but also a day of quiet hope. "For you will not leave my soul among the dead, nor let your beloved know decay" (Psalm 15). There is a lovely homily about Jesus descending into hell: "He goes to free the prisoner Adam and his fellow-prisoner Eve from their pains, he who is God, and Adam's son."
