Transformational Leadership
Four Days of Leadership Reflection and Development for Laity, Religious and Clergy in Pastoral Leadership
Facilitated by: Bobby Moore
Are you: Tired of the old, worn out, repetitive conversations? Able to bring leadership to life through facilitating generative conversations that open new, unforeseen possibilities? Worn down by the at times negative, energy draining conflicts you are ‘expected’ to manage? Increase you ability to negotiate for leadership in ways that identify realistic expectations and clarify responsibilities?
Would you like to: Awaken the leader within through identifying your own strengths as a leader and enhance you capacity to influence through your own motivation and energy? Develop your capacity to lead with emotional intelligence, managing more creatively the intense emotions that your leadership role evokes in you?
Who should attend?
This 4-Day Programme of Transformational Leadership is designed for those in pastoral leadership with office or individuals who want to influence those around them in more creative ways. The days are spread out one-per-month to allow time to apply insights and practice new ways of influencing. It would also be a really useful tool for a Leadership Team or group of local leaders to work on together.

Day 4 – Thursday 23rd February 2012
Facilitating Transformational Change and Managing Conflict
‘Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us.’ (Marianne Williamson)
Transformational change and resistance to change go hand in hand. For every desire there is a concomitant fear of what the achievement of the desire will lead to. Conflict, both internal and external, is ever present and so it becomes important to find ways of understanding and managing rather than eradicating it. In this workshop we will explore what it means to look beyond a presenting conflict, understand the anxieties that underpin it and use that energy to effect transformation. This understanding can open up new perspectives and possibilities.
Too many conversations happen about others rather than with others. Yet it is the conversations that we have (either in our own mind or with others) that shape the lives we live. When conversations are fuelled by competition and fear our lives become dominated internally by voices of inadequacy and dread and externally by conflict and bullying. In this workshop we look at how generative conversations can transform not just your own attitude to life but that of those we spend time with. When at least one party to a conversation decides to do something more constructive unpredictable possibilities emerge.
